Australian technologies trade with Asian/Pacific region
    (1991) Hussain, Shabbir
The Pacific region is potentially a huge market for Australian goods and services in technology. The emergence of the Asian/Pacific as one of the high GDP growth regions with a combined population several times more than Australia, offers a great trading opportunity for us. The region encompasses both very large and technologically highly sophisticated nations such as the United States and Japan as well as less wealthy nations like the Philippines. The ''four tigers'', with their emerging dominance in proven technologies, have further necessitated Australia to forge ahead in technological advancement and not to compete with the developing nations where factor costs are hard to match.
