    Role of non-timber forest products in the economy of peripheal communities of Knuckles national wilderness area of Sri Lanka : A farming systems approach

    Three protected forests Sinharaja,Knuckles and peak wilderness are considered to be the most important nature reserves in Sri Lanka. The Knuckles range of forests lies in the Kandy and Matale districts of Sri Lanka and geomorphologically is part of the central highlands.These forests provide great environmental services as watersheds and climatic moderalors for the region. They also contain many endemic plant and animal species.
