Abstract:
On a cursory study, it is apparent that the number of death of migrants shows a significant increase in recent years. This research is designed to determine the mortality risk of Sri Lankan migrant workers. All data was obtained from the Bureau of Foreign Employment, and standard statistical methods with some assumptions, when data was not available, was used for the calculations. Findings for a three year period showed that there was no significant difference in mortality rates gender wise. However, females of a certain age group had greater risk of death when compared to their counterparts in the country. No data from the country of migration was available.
