dc.description.abstract Korea operates an Employment Permit System to legally recruit foreign workers to the country. Most of the hiring Korean companies are satisfied with this system. Korea has signed MOUs with fifteen countries for the import of manpower, Sri Lanka being one. The main objectives of the EPS system are to operate an efficient management system for foreign workers and to apply identical labour conditions and human rights as the native workers. Foreign workers under the EPS are eligible to work under the labour laws of the country while household services workers are not permitted to do so. en_US
