dc.description.abstract | The centre on integrated rural development for Asia and the Pacific commonly known as CIRDAP is an autonomous regional and intergovernmental institution. It was established in 1979 at the initiative of the countries of the Asia and pacific region and FAU of the UN.Its objectives are to assist national action, promote regional cooperation and act as a servicing institute for its member countries in promoting integrated rural development.Research action research, training and information dissemination are its main activities. Starting with 6 member countries CIRDAP now has 11 member countries. These are Bangladesh (Host Country) India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Thailand | en_US |
