dc.description.abstractThe studies have been designed as policy-oriented overviews, focusing on the relationships between the external sector and the internal socio-economic transformation in each of the six selected countries.These countries represent three broad types of historical and political situations which have influenced the evolution of the patterns of external linkages in the Asian region.The studies are expected to analyses these linkages on the premise that they have a significant bearing on the countries development strategies and its capacity for making autonomous decisions and choices in regard to its development goalsen_US
