Moving to a Compressed Work Week Scheme in Sri Lanka: Is A Five Day Work Week Better Than A Five and One Half Day Work Week?
Abstract
This note first provides an analysis of the costs and benefits of a reduced work week for both la bour and management. It then analyses the results of opinion surveys carried out to ascertain the perceptions of labor and management on this issue. The final section looks at policy implementation issues and provides directions for further analysis.
